On Wednesday I brought in the large plastic bin that I use whenever I need to throw away things that have been lingering in the house for too long. It’s not that we have a lot of things or that the house is huge, it’s just that when you have 5 young children living in a small house things accumulate quickly and clutter is the result. So every once in a while I feel the need to throw a whole bunch of things out.
On Wednesday I decided to completely clean out my office space in preparation for the production of my next film “The Borg Agenda Part 8”.
So I cleaned out everything, threw out old papers, old books, old dvds, anything that had become useless clutter. I also reorganized my storage cabinet and my closet. I will admit that my office is small. But when you do all of the different things that I do, radio shows, documentaries, music, writing, consultations, etc. things get cluttered quickly.
While cleaning up I also thought about my production focus for the new year. Premium membership on my website is at the top of my list. Second is my next film “The Borg Agenda Part 8”. There are also two books that I plan on completing.
Before I went to bed on Wednesday I set out some of the research materials that I would need in order to start the film. Having set everything in order I went to bed.
When I woke up on Thursday I went onto my facebook page and a friend of mine named Captain Jack had posted a picture of “Star Trek Deep Space 9”. He also posted that Thursday was the 20 year anniversary of the premiere of that television series. Then I thought to myself, “What are the odds of me cleaning out my office the night before in preparation for my next film which will analyze episodes of Star Trek Deep Space 9?”
In that moment I knew that everything was just as it was meant to be.
So on Thursday, while my wife and I held our daily business/household meeting, I made a point to my wife that I would spend some time each day working on my next film. So far I have spent about 8 hours researching for the film. As part of this research I am viewing the television mini-series “Roots”.
Some of you are probably wondering what does a mini-series about African Enslavement in the United States of America have to do with Star Trek Deep Space 9? If you have viewed The Borg Agenda Part 7B and Part 7C then you probably have an idea of how African enslavement is connected to Star Trek. If you have not seen Part 7B and Part 7C then I recommend that you do so as soon as possible.
So here is how I have allocated my time thus far:
Thursday, January3rd: 4 hours viewing Roots and researching correlations between the Roots cast list and the Star Trek Television Series cast list.
Friday, January 4th: 4 hours viewing Roots and finished correlations between cast lists.
More updates to come!
